AI mock interview

Practice out loud with an AI interviewer that scores every answer

Most people prepare by reading lists of questions, then freeze when they have to answer out loud. HintCall gives you a realistic practice interview: real questions for your role, real follow-ups and an honest score, so the real one feels familiar.

What you get

Everything a real practice interview needs

A voice interviewer

The interviewer speaks its questions and listens to your spoken answers, so you practice thinking and talking at the same time.

Real follow-up questions

Give a vague answer and it digs deeper, the way a real interviewer does. You learn where your stories are thin.

Built for your role

Add your resume and the job description. Questions match the role, the level and the skills the company asked for.

Scored answers

Every answer gets a score on structure, depth and clarity, with a short note on what was missing.

A report you can act on

After each interview you get a report with strong moments, weak spots and better ways to answer the same question.

Coding rounds too

For technical roles, practice coding questions with a built-in code pad while you explain your thinking out loud.

How it works

How a HintCall mock interview works

  1. 01

    Tell us the job

Pick the role and level, then paste the job description and add your resume. This is what makes the questions specific instead of generic.

  2. 02

    Choose the round

Behavioral, technical, coding or a screening call. Run one round or several in a row to rehearse a full interview loop.

  3. 03

    Answer out loud

The AI interviewer asks a question and listens. If your answer is short or unclear, it asks a follow-up, just like a person would.

  4. 04

    Read your report, go again

See a score for each answer, what was missing and a stronger way to say it. Fix one thing, then run it again and compare.

Interview practice

Practice for every round

A full interview loop has different rounds, and each one needs different practice. HintCall covers the common ones.

Behavioral

Conflict, ownership, failure, leadership and teamwork questions. Practice telling stories with a clear situation, action and result.

Technical

Role-specific questions on the skills in the job description, from system design to SQL to product sense.

Coding

Algorithm and data structure problems with a code pad, where you explain your approach while you write it.

HR and screening

Introductions, salary expectations, notice period and why-this-company questions that open most interview loops.

Tips to get the most from practice

  • Practice the first two minutes most

"Tell me about yourself" sets the tone. Aim for a clear 60 to 90 second answer that ends with why you want this role.

  • Prepare five stories, not fifty answers

Five strong project and conflict stories can answer most behavioral questions if you know them well.

  • Fix one thing per session

Pick the lowest score in your report, work on it, and run the interview again.

  • Talk through your code

In coding rounds, interviewers grade how you think as much as the final answer. Say your approach before you write it.

What is an AI mock interview?

It is a practice interview run by an AI interviewer instead of a person. HintCall's interviewer speaks the questions, listens to your spoken answers, asks follow-up questions and scores how you did, so you can practice as often as you like without booking anyone.

How long is a mock interview?

Most practice interviews take 15 to 30 minutes. You can end early at any time and still get feedback on the answers you gave.

Which roles can I practice for?

Software engineering, data and analytics, product, design, business, sales, support and more. Questions are based on the role and the job description you add, so they fit roles that are not on a fixed list.

Do I need a microphone?

Yes. The mock interview is spoken, like a real interview, so you need a working microphone. A headset gives the best results.

Is the mock interview free?

You can start a mock interview on the free plan. Paid plans give you more practice time.

Can I do mock interviews in the desktop app?

Yes. Mock interviews run in your browser, and the HintCall desktop app has them too, so you can rehearse in the same window, audio setup and shortcuts you will use in the real interview. Both use the same scoring, credits and history.

How is a mock interview different from the interview assistant?

The mock interview is practice: an AI plays the interviewer and grades you. The interview assistant is for your real interview: it shows the question and a suggested answer while you talk to a real person.
